Imager Disks and Their Hosts

Here are some lists of the various imager disks and the hosts that support them. If one of these disks becomes inaccessible, the first thing to do is check the status of the host. ping(1) works fine for this.

Remember that not all disks are mounted on all hosts.

Hard Disks

This first list contains the "base" Imager file systems (corresponding to hard drives) and their hosts. These are the systems to consider for backup.

These are the disks represented in the Imager Squatters Report of disk usage.

[1]: These disks are dedicated to the Children's Hospital project and are not for general Imager use. [2]: /imager/tmp is linked to /imagertmp on brutus

Optical Disks ("The Jukebox")

These file systems are related to the jukebox and are (obviously) not backed up.

NameNFS Mount PointHost
/imager/gold[1]/nfs/imagergold/goldchaplin
/imager/violet/nfs/imagerviolet/violet[2]chaplin
[1]: /imager/gold, an attempt to share a file system across jukebox disks, is officially considered flakey and not recommended for use
[2]: /imager/violet is linked to /jukebox on chaplin itself

Links

Mostly for historical purposes, these links point to the base file systems:

[2]: {machine} is one of "sgi-3.3" or "irix-5". (The latter doesn't exist, but "sgi-4.0" and "sgi-5.0" do.)

Vestigial and Obsolete

These file systems appear vestigial or obsolete and should not be used. They are not backed up.

NameNFS Mount Point

/imager/public[1]/nfs/imager3/public/{machine}[2]
[1]: only on SGIs and IBMs. "/cs/public/*" is more appropriate and more widely accessible.
[2]: {machine} is one of "ibm-3.1", "sun4-4.0", or "irix-5".
