Thanks to the previous work of Alain and John, I've put together a shell script that writes a PostScript file, suitable for printing, that produces an array of not one, not two, but ten monochrome card images suitable for Xeroxing onto heavy stock.
Here's all you do (assuming /imager/local/generic/bin is in your path):
% imagercard >wherever.psImagercard pulls what information it needs from "whoami", "finger", and "userinfo", but you can override this. The full syntax of the command is
imagercard -l login -f full name -p phone number -t titletitle defaults to "Researcher" and the other stuff defaults to the stuff from "whoami", "finger", and "userinfo". In any case, always preview the output before printing.
Imagercard comes with no guarantee whatsoever, but if you have any problems with it, I'd certainly like to hear about them.
