The Imager Journal Club
About the Imager Journal Club
The Imager Journal Club is a group of people (mainly
Imager members) who get together once a week (for one
hour) to discuss and present papers published in some
computer graphics related journal. Each member of the
club is assigned a journal which she/he is responsible
to follow.
Goals of the Imager Journal Club
The four main goals for the Imager Journal Club
meetings are defined as follows:
- To make club members aware of what has been published
in the Computer Graphics and related areas journals literature;
- To improve presentation skills for the club members;
- To instigate and improve critical thought in general.
- To raise confidence in evaluating the soundness of a
paper.
Format of the presentations
There will be two parts in the presentation. In the first
part called "Table of Contents", 2 people will present
the table of contents for the journals they
are assigned to follow. Check on this
list if you want to see when you are scheduled to present
the Table of Contents for your journal.
The second part is the "Presentation/Discussion"
part. One of the members will present a paper from
his/her own interest, which may or not be from the
specific journal that person is assigned to.
Presenter's duties
- Post in advance in <cs.imager> the specific paper she/he
will be presenting and make a copy of this paper
so that interested people can read the paper in advance
to facilitate discussions during the presentation. The
presented papers will be filed in a folder in /imager/light;
- Type in in LaTeX bibliography format the papers
from the table of contents. This file will be added later
to the Imager bibliography database.
