The International Conference on Preconditioning Techniques for Scientific and Industrial Applications, Preconditioning 2017, is the tenth in a series of conferences that focus on preconditioning techniques in sparse matrix computation.

The goal of this series of conferences is to address the complex issues related to the solution of general sparse matrix problems in large-scale applications and in industrial settings.

We gratefully acknowledge financial and administrative support from PIMS and financial support from NSF, IAM and CGI.

Registration and most of the talks (except the morning sessions of Day 2) will take place at UBC Forestry (FSC), 2424 Main Mall. More details can be found in the map here. Tuesday (Day 2) morning sessions take place at UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (PHRM), 2405 Wesbrook Mall. If you do not want to walk alone to PHRM on Tuesday morning, we will meet at 8:10am sharp in front of FSC and walk together to the Pharmacy building.

Instructions for applying to minisymposia:

  • It is possible to have up to two minisymposium organizers.
  • Either one session of four speakers or two sessions of eight speakers (25 minutes presentation plus 5 minutes discussion per talk). For simplicity, there is only one form and one step: organizers should collect titles and abstracts from their prospective speakers and fill out the form by the deadline, once and for all. Please specify either four or eight speakers, and avoid applying for a minisymposium with an incomplete number of speakers.

Need a visa and/or letter of invitation:
