Jessica has moved from the UW iSchool to Northwestern CS & Journalism. She is recruiting Ph.D. students and postdocs and will soon be officially announcing her new lab, the Midwest Uncertainty (MU) Collective, joint with Matt Kay at UMich.
Tamara announces the cross-disciplinary Designing for People initiative at UBC, they're welcoming grad students across all areas of HCI including visualization. And UBC CS is hiring faculty in all areas of research plus also their tenure-track teaching stream.
Jeff's Interactive Data Lab at UW is celebrating an InfoVis Best Paper award for Dominik Moritz's Draco project, IDL-alum Arvind Satyanarayan's start as an Assistant Professor at MIT, Kanit "Ham" Wongsuphasawat's graduation from UW IDL and start as a Research Scientist at Apple, and Jeff's recent promotion to Full Professor. UW is looking for faculty applicants (including visualization researchers!) across multiple departments, including Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), the Information School, and Human-Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE).
