Title: Ontology Alignment on Biological Systems using Taxonomy
Speaker: Andrew Carbonetto
Abstract The Ulysses system was developed to perform Interolog Analysis by projecting interaction data of model organisms onto homologous human proteins, with the intention of serving as an accelerator in the analysis of uncharacterized human proteins. The initial interaction system is primitive. By using protein interaction metadata and the Gene Ontology taxonomy, we are introducing a new system for the identification of homologous proteins, their function and supporting evidence.
