- Bioinformatics reading group time, set to Tuesdays 1:00 - 2:00 Every once a while, this meeting time will be used for lab meetings. The next lab meeting is scheduled for June 5, 2007.

* Check with Dave Brent if this time works for him.

- Dinner: The end of the term dinner is happening Tuesday May 18, 2007. Indian food was chosen for this dinner. Faculty members offered to pay for their students.

- MITACS: Joint MITACS seminar series in Bioinformatics are planned between UBC and SFU for end of summer or the coming fall. The place for these seminar series to be discussed with SFU. Offers were to use SFU downtown campus, or DMP in UBC.

- Seating/ Machines: There are 7 new students coming to the lab this summer including Irmi's two new students. Five of these students are here for summer only. There are going to be priority seatings among undergrads too.

- Web Page: People voted for web page updates but the updates of the look to be decided in a later time.

* look at some lab pages on the internet and come up with a suggestion for next meeting.

- Mailing lists:

***Joel is to find the way to add the new students to the mailing list, and update the wiki page for that.

- Locks: If you need locks, contact Dave. The decision is to buy locks with two sets of keys, one to keep and one to give to Evelyn.

* Dave to buy the locks.

- Disk space and facility usage: Dave mentioned that we can use Beta space and the SCRATCH space, and we will most probably be OK when we move to netAPP. Also, we should put a protocol for lab machine usage to run the jobs.

* need Dave Brent's opinion on disk space

* Hosna to look at the wiki for other protocols and propose one for beta.
