- Sage: Open Source Mathematics Software (Kevin)
- Mysql (Lin, Frank)
- Ruby (Lin, Frank)
- Ruby-dbi (Lin, Frank)
- CPLEX (Frank)
- Matlab & Matlab compiler (Frank; only strictly needed on arrow01 to compile Matlab code for running it on the rest of the cluster)
