You need to submit an "intent to apply" form 180 by August 15th, though that's a soft deadline. * The office of UBC VP Research (VPRO) is at http://www.research.ubc.ca/. They have an incomplete calendar at http://info.research.ubc.ca/calendar_grid.asp which may show some funding opportunities. You have to login to get a full listing of what they have, but there's not a lot extra there. To get a password, you have to request a login and password from their site. * The VPRO holds a workshop on NSERC discovery grants in September, which is well worth attending. * The office of research services is at http://www.orsil.ubc.ca/, but I'm not sure how useful they are. * How much do students cost?
