How will students (and the world) view the credentials obtained from this kind of course? How could video lectures be combined with project-based learning?

What is a good forum for online dicussion among faculty? Choices include this wiki (workable but cumbersom), Google+, UBC Blogs, etc. Or to do no online discussion at all.

This is not a good forum for discussion. I don't anticipate checking back. I'd prefer opt-in email discussions.

yes, this is a (now dead) experiment. But surely we can do better than an email discussion? The problem with email is that there are no convenient mechanisms for opting in or out.
