These instructions cover unloading the material from the print head, and removing the material canister

  1. Main Menu > Operator Control > Load/Unload material (you can check status here)
  2. Unload Material
  3. Select either the ABS (Model) or ABS_SS (Support)
  4. hit Enter (it will heat up)
  5. When done, it will say "At Head" and the material light will flash
  6. Pull out handle, push up and push back in.
  7. Start pulling out canister slowly (and immediately)
  8. Support material will break off, Model needs to be cut off (DON'T let it go all the way into the canister)
  9. Seal canister by placing stopper on top and foam rectangle on thumb control
  10. Dispose of spare material pieces

Feeding the material

These instructions cover inserting a (potentially new) material canister, and loading it to the head

  1. Turn on the printer (If its on, leave it on)
  2. Wait for the light to stop flashing (for the material you want to load)
  3. For NEW canisters, remove the locking plug on the side at the back of the canister
  4. Remove the foam from the thumb screw on the canister, and remove the stopper at the top (they both get stored on the canister below the thumb screw)
  5. Use the thumb screw to feed the material to be even with the top of the surface (UP is thumbing toward the ground)
  6. Move the handle to the up position, and slide the canister in
  7. Drop the handle down
  8. Pull the canister back as far as you can
  9. Thumb the material up until the light flashes (UP is thumbing toward the ground) (Seems like the Support material needs to be fed further than the Model material) (NOTE) if this is not easy to thumb, then the canister is not aligned. DON'T force it.
  10. The light should be flashing now
  11. Close the thumb door
  12. Repeat for the other material if necessary
  13. Main Menu > Modeler Status > Material Status, and both materials should say "Ready"
  14. If the machine has just been turned on, perform Autohome XYZ
  15. Go to the Main Menu > Operator Control > Load/Unload material > Load Material, and select the one to load (repeat for the other one)
  16. It will take time to heat up before it finishes loading each one. The LED will become solid when it has loaded.
