Issues with Integrating GIS and Relational Data
- Projection - each GIS file must have the same projection to be able to conduct any sort of spatial analysis
- A GIS file's projection is provided as metadata
- Relational data often does not have a location that is in a format
- For example, often the data is specified at a city, regional or provincial level; and, a spatial position in terms of latitude and longitude (or as Cartesian coordinates) is not provided
