Setting Up CVS

You can access CVS repository in many ways. If you use Eclipse IDE (http://www.eclipse.org) then:

  • Click new → project → CVS → Checkout Projects from CVS
  • If you're running it the first time a setup window will pop up. Select Create a new repository location
  • The screen will look like the one in screen shot→(see attachment team.gif)
    1. enter the host bowen.ugrad.cs.ubc.ca
    2. repository path (location)
    3. your CS Unix userid (ex e6v3)
    4. your CS password
    5. select connection type as extssh
    6. click Finish
  • To use CVS in Eclipse
    1. Create/Use in existing project, and right click on the project name
    2. Select team
    3. you have the following options:
      • share--first time, add a new project to repository
      • commit--once you have checked out and modified a project, you can check it back in
      • Synchronise with repository--used for synchronising your project version with CVS

  • setfacl

  • Show tool-tip topic info on mouse-over of WikiWord links, on or off: (see details in TWikiPreferences)
    • Set LINKTOOLTIPINFO = off
  • Horizontal size of text edit box:
    • Set EDITBOXWIDTH = 70
  • Vertical size of text edit box:
    • Set EDITBOXHEIGHT = 22
  • Style of text edit box. width: 99% for full window width (default), width: auto to disable.
    • Set EDITBOXSTYLE = width: 99%
  • Optionally write protect your home page: (set it to your WikiName)
    • Set ALLOWTOPICCHANGE =
