Slides sets (for use in courses):
Note: The slides provided from this page are copyrighted material. They may be used freely for academic and educational purposes in their original or modified form, but any use, in particular distribution in the form of electronic copies or printouts, must be accompanied by the following statetement: 'This material is based on slides provided with the book 'Stochastic Local Search: Foundations and Applications' by Holger H. Hoos and Thomas Stützle (Morgan Kaufmann, 2004) - see www.sls-book.net for further information.' |
The following slide sets have been developed specifically for use with the respective chapters of 'SLS:FA'. They have been prepared using the LaTeX Beamer Class (see http://latex-beamer.sourceforge.net/). For presentation using Acrobat Reader, open the PDF file and select 'Full Screen View' from the 'Window' menu (Ctrl-L). For printing the slides using Acrobat Reader, select 'Print' from the 'File' menu and make sure to select 'Page Scaling: Fit to paper' in the 'Page Handling' section of the print dialog. If you have any suggestions on improving the slides or if you find any errors, please contact Holger or Thomas. Also, if you use any of our slide sets for your course, we'd be pleased to hear from you. |
Slide sets for all other chapters of the book are currently being developed and will become available between August and October 2005. In the meanwhile, the following slide sets, which cover most of the material in slightly more condensed form, may be of interest: |
