Ukraine-Saudiarabia in Hamburg - the police showing presence ...
Lots of presence ...
Not necessary for peaceful and happy fans :-)

The Ukranian fan block

The stadium
National anthiems

Saudi-Arabian fans - would've loved to be in the Ukranian block ...
The slogan "A time to make friends" and "Say no to racism"
Let the games begin ...
And there they started ... no more pics as it was pretty silent around me seeing that Saudi-Arabia lost 4:0 ;-)
More police presence after the game
Hamburg's fan area - way cool with a tent for each of the 32 participating nations. The Brazilian tent was a BIG party (mostly inhibited by Spanish and Ukranian fans after their 3:1 and 4:0 wins :)

Random drunk fans who wanted me to take their picture
One of the busy "tourist" streets in Hamburg - apparently this is transforming from a red light district to just a hip party street
Crazy roommates in the hostel - drinking until 3am with loud music and many other guests as well as the hostel manager complaining
Sven, another crazy roommate
Next morning, Hamburg's town hall. This is HUGE, having 547 rooms or so, 6 more than the Buckingham Palace at any rate
Aeh, don't remember what was special about this ...
The carvings on this door were prepared by orphans over a course of 5 years, and that for free. They did this in order to show their gratitude for the orphanage that the mayor set up.
Yeah, what was this again ??
Justice on the right and strength (?) on the left, to symbolize how the senat should rule
Town Hall from outside, just doesn't fit onto a picture and I was too lazy to do a panorama (both in height and width)...
Already on the fan mile in Berlin. Klinsi, Voeller, Berti and Kaiser Franz.
Volleyball nets right on the fan mile - awesome :-)

And again ... dunno why he did it 3 times ...

The German lineup being presented - no pics during the game, only videos ...
Some dudes climbing a traffic light after the game

I think they stayed there for at least 30 minutes
German flags ... rare enough

Those guys partied a little too hard later on, breaking the table
Dieter and Ansgar, the guys I met in the train and went to the fan mile with. Really nice and fun guys (despite Dieter's mean face on this picture ;-)

I like it how you see Dieter's "Deutschland" through the flag !
Well, Ansgar told us to lock crazy ...
We were just waiting for the lights to break (they screeched quite a bit when the guys were jumping), but German quality work ... they held all of it.

The last of 5 screens, just in front of the Brandenburger Tor (the fan mile starts at the Siegessaeule)
Dieter and their friend whose place they crashed at in Berlin (Markus?)
Sitting at the Spree - very nice :-)
Continued police presence seemed to help - I didn't see any incidents...
"Just one more bottle of beer" ...
There was a continuous stream of people on that bridge in the background for many hours
Nice ship with fans
Fan swimming in the Spree - first hw thought the cops would mind, so he returned right away ...
But they didn't care, so they continued ...
... and showed some acrobatic tricks :-)
Ansgar and Dieter

... with open eyes

Back to the fan mile to see Italy vs. Sweden
Somewhere on the way back to the Hauptbahnhof
Berlin Hauptbahnhof - this picture isn't impressive at all, but the station is. 5 stories, simply HUGE - and a confusing.
Leipzig Hauptbahnhof. Only 3 stories, but really cool (see more pics later)
An awesome shop! "Kif" stands for "Smoke up", which is forbidden by law in Germany and not tolerated quite as much as in Vancouver

Leipzig Hauptbahnhof again. Soo much stuff to buy. They build a shopping mall right into the station - way cool :-)
