Today we take clocks and watches for granted, if we wear them at all, and yet the mechanical clock is arguably one of the most important technologies of the last thousand years. I’ll be giving a rundown of the history of the clock and its manufacture, and tracing its profound impact on our society. Also, clock jokes! Why did the man hit the clock? Because the clock struck first! Hilarious!
