Michael Friedlander
Michael Friedlander is an IBM Professor of Computational Mathematics and Director of the UBC Institute of Applied Mathematics. His research interests are in large-scaled optimization, especially convergence analysis, robust software implementation, signal and image processing, and machine learning.

Chen Greif is Professor and Head of UBC Computer Science. His research is in numerical linear algebra, including matrix analysis, iterative solvers and preconditioning, and the numerical solution of partial differential equations.

Ian Mitchell is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science. His current research emphasizes control and planning in cyber-physical and robotic systems with a focus on safety of human-in-the-loop designs.
