Replacing the Drive Block
There is a black tool box with the tools you need - maybe above the printer
Remove drive block
- Unfeed the Model and Support materials (LoadingUnloadingMaterials)
- Power down the printer (just hitting the red button is sufficient)
- Open the bottom part where the material canisters are, unscrew the 3 screws (1 center, 2 bottom)
- Drop the 2 drive heads to the lower position
- Take off the front panel by grabbing the bottom, pulling down gently
- Lay the panel flat above the drive heads (be careful the hoses are still connected)
- Unscrew the handle for the drive head you want to replace
- Using needle-nose pliers, remove the 2 E-clips above the drive head by lifting the drive head slightly and grabbing the clips from the back side
- Allow the drive head to drop, while supporting it in your hand
- There is a hose connected to the top with a black ring. Slide the ring down and pull the hose off
- Remove the data cable at the back
- Slide the drive head out
- NOTE: If you need to get inside it, Unscrew the ring on the bottom and you can remove the 4 screws on the left side
Install new drive block
- Unscrew the handle on the new drive head (if attached still)
- Use the springs and washers from the 2 rods on the top of the old drive head
- Slide it up into place and reconnect the data cable at the back (there are 2 of them, use the one connected to the LED on the front)
- Plug the hose back in (the black ring fits on automatically)
- Slide it up further and replace the 2 E-Clips the same way they came off
- Screw the handle back on (tighten with a wrench), make sure its in the lower position
- Slide the panel back on, over the 2 handles, and shove it up between the black part and 2 metal clips at the top
- Align the center screw and screw it in, then add the other 2 screws
- Now turn it back on and feed the material (LoadingUnloadingMaterials)
