*Who could possibly teach CPSC 445 in 2010W2 (or 2010W1)?* * Mirela Andronescu (HH: IMO clearly qualified, have to check baby situation) * Sohrab Shah (HH: probably qualified, might not have time) * Patrice Belleville (HH: good longer-term solution, but large startup cost for him, might be booked up with other courses) * Frank Hutter (HH: IMO clearly qualified, but large startup cost for him, might not have time - I don't think he is a realistic option) -- Main.HolgerHoos - 15 Mar 2011 AC: other possibilities are * Jan Manuch - not sure he'll be around next year but if he is he might be available * Chris Thachuk - probably not interested, too many time constraints * Bonnie Kirkpatrich - (postdoc starting in July) also probably not interested * Cydney Neilsen (postdoc at BC Cancer) - the algorithms-oriented focus of the course may not be well aligned with her interests but she took 545 many years ago. * Vicky Choi - moving to Vancouver this summer, strong algorithms background, interested in bioinformatics but may not be available if she has already lined up something else (this is probably too short-term for her) We could also just email all of these people and ask them to suggest others.
