-- Main.mmt - 27 Jun 2007 ---++ Replacing print head assembly There is a black tool box with the tools you need - maybe above the printer *Preparation* 1. Unload Filament: ==Operator Control > Change Tips/Mtl > Unload Model and Support== 1. Move the head into service position: ==Operator Control > Move Head/Stage > Move Head to Center-Front Position== 1. If the material is to be changed, [[VantageChangingMaterials][remove the canisters]] 1. [[StratasysVantage][Power down system completely]] *Head removal* These instructions slightly different than those in attached Word document, because we don't have a maintenance bracket. 1. Open up top of machine 1. _Place Head in maintenance bracket (this currently isn't available -- need to request one)_ 1. Remove the cooling hose - loosen, but do not remove, two retaining screws (9/64 allen). 1. Slide the hose flange out from under screws. 1. Remove the filament tubes - press in on fitting rings while pulling out the tubes. *NOTE: Tubes labeled to make assembly easier* 1. Remove the Head Cable, making sure to unscrew the 2 screws simultaneously and in equal amounts to avoid bending the pins 1. Remove the Head Assembly - loosen the 2 head retaining screws (9/64 allen) 1. Take the entire head assembly out of the machine and place on a flat surface 1. Remove tips by unscrewing 2 screws on the casing of each tip. Only unscrew a half-turn at a time to prevent the threads from binding and messing up when hot. (*NOTE: THIS PART IS VERY HOT*) 1. Slide tips out from the bottom of the casing *Head Installation* These instructions slightly different than those in attached Word document, because we don't have a maintenance bracket. 1. _Place Head Assembly into maintenance bracket._ 1. Install the tips, with the exposed metal plate on the tip facing forward. 1. Screw them in tightly a half-turn at a time to prevent the threads from binding and messing up when hot. (The tip end will be able to rotate slightly.) 1. Attach the Head Cable, making sure to screw the 2 screws simultaneously and in equal amounts to avoid bending the pins 1. Install the filament tubes, -- push tube fully into fitting - pull up to make sure that it is secured 1. Make sure each tube is inserted into the correct location - model/left, support/right. 1. Slide the cooling hose flange under the retaining screws - tighten the 6screws *Post procedure* 1. [[StratasysVantage][Power system up]] 1. Perform an [[VantageCalibration][Autohome XYZ]] 1. [[VantageChangingMaterials][Install new canisters]] if needed 1. [[VantageChangingMaterials][Load material to head]] (==Operator Control > Load/Unload material > Load Material==) 1. Perform a [[VantageCalibration][Auto Z stage zero calibration]] 1. Perform a [[VantageCalibration][Auto tip-to-tip calibration]] 1. Print a [[VantageCalibration][calibration job]] and configure the machine
