Showcasing Your Technical Skills in Interviews and e-Portfolios

Learn how to demonstrate your technical skills to employers! This 2-part presentation by Sabina Nawaz (a former Microsoft executive) will teach you technical interview and e-Portfolio development skills. You’re welcome to attend either or both of the sessions, but you must RSVP. Sign up below by Nov. 10/11.

Session Descriptions

Session 1: Effective Technical Interview Skills  (5:00 – 6:00 pm)

Discover tips and tricks for technical interviews. Learn about the IT interview process and how it differs from other interviews; interview preparation techniques; and how to effectively answer technical questions.

Session 2: Developing Effective e-Portfolio Content  (6:15 -  7:15 pm)

An e-Portfolio is an online method of showcasing your technical thinking and problem solving. Learn how to choose and develop technical projects for your e-Portfolio that will effectively capture employers’ attention. Also, find out good approaches to communicating your background thinking and problem solving about these projects. 

About Sabina Nawaz: Sabina worked for Microsoft for 15 years before starting her own consulting business in 2005. For the past two years, she’s presented a technical interview skills workshop to our CS students, to outstanding reviews. Sabina began her career in software development and then worked in a variety of Microsoft Human Resources leadership positions. She has a BA in Computer Science as well as an M.S. in Computer Systems Engineering.
