UBC-O Optimization Workshop
The Departments of Mathematics and Computer Science at UBC's Okanagan campus will be holding an Optimization Workshop on July 9-11th.
The workshop will provide undergraduate students in mathematics and computer science with an introduction to optimization and give students a flavor of modern optimization research.
This two and a half days workshop will include introductory courses on monotone operators, derivative-free optimization, and variational analysis, a hands-on lab on computer-aided tools for convex analysis, and 3 presentations by international researchers in optimization and by a UBC alumnus working in industry.
The workshop will also include a competition with cash prizes.
While there is no registration fee, registration is required for organizational reasons.
