We are seeking expressions of interests for a summer contract position creating web scraping tools for social media content. The successful candidate will support to the Business, Sustainability, and Technology Lab at UBC Forestry in obtaining historical Twitter data related palm oil sustainability and other topics as assigned. Candidates will be asked to scrape historical Twitter data associated with particular hashtags between 2011-present (User, Username, User Followers, Age of account, UTC Date, Tweet content, Permalink, Retweet count, Likes count, Impressions count).
Skills required:
- Web scraping, communication with non-CS team members
- Must have prior experience with web scraping social media content.
- Previous experience working with non-CS experts and communicating with social scientists is preferred.
